HIIT for Hope: A Weekend of Movement, Community, and Connection

Last weekend, we had the privilege of being part of HIIT for Hope, an ambitious attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest HIIT workout. While we may not be a health and fitness business at Black Sands Consulting, we believe deeply in community, connection, and the power of coming together for a good cause, and this event captured all of that beautifully.

We joined the Business Expo alongside many incredible local organisations, handing out our Black Sands “passports” for people to collect stamps throughout the day. Every completed passport went into the draw to win an LSKD voucher, and it was such a joy watching kids and adults alike excitedly hunt for the next stamp. It created a bit of fun, a bit of movement, and a great reason for everyone to visit multiple local businesses and learn more about the people behind them.

Although Black Sands doesn’t sit within the health and fitness industry, we were drawn to this event because its message aligns with values we hold close: movement matters, and physical wellbeing plays a crucial role in supporting mental health. Seeing people travel from across New Zealand to participate showed just how powerful a shared purpose can be.

And while the record wasn’t broken this time, the atmosphere was incredible- high energy, lots of smiles, and plenty of sweaty high fives. For us, it was especially meaningful to bring the kids along and let them experience the fun of moving their bodies in a big, supportive group. These are the kinds of moments that remind us why community events are so important.

We left the day feeling grateful, inspired, and proud to have been part of something bigger than ourselves.

Here’s to more movement, more connection, and more opportunities to support our local community — both inside and outside the immigration space.
